Editorial Policy

Mali Times publishes breaking updates and explainers with a newsroom-first mindset. Our priority is accuracy, clarity, and restraint — especially on fast-moving stories.

We rely on primary sources when possible, including official statements, public records, direct announcements, and on-the-record information. When primary sources are not available, we cross-check key claims across reputable outlets and avoid repeating details that cannot be verified. We distinguish clearly between confirmed facts, developing information, and analysis. If a claim is uncertain, we either leave it out or label it as unconfirmed.

Every article goes through a basic edit for accuracy, readability, and headline-to-content alignment. We check dates, names, locations, and numbers, and we avoid sensational framing. When a story evolves, we update the article and keep the wording honest about what changed. If we publish an error, we correct it promptly and revise the article to reflect the most reliable information available.

Opinion pieces (when we publish them) are labeled and kept separate from reporting.
